The home care company Dependentia has started its growth outside Catalonia with the acquisition of Confía , based in Madrid. The Catalan company belongs to the health insurer Atlántida , which has 37,000 policyholders and a turnover of 18 million euros.

Dependentia , founded in 2000, plans to open five branches in Cantabria, the Valencian Community and the Canary Islands in 2008, with an investment of half a million euros. Its current clients include La Cruz Roja, Fiatc, Mapfre, Agrupació Mútua and Santa Lucía, providing services to more than 1,500 families.
